Busy Week!

This week was a busy one! Thursday, I had all the small group woman over for a baby shower for Candice. Her and her husband are expecting their 3rd little girl mid-July. It was nice to gettogether and relax without the kids or husbands. On Friday we traveled to Fargo and stayed at a hotel for Ben's family reunion at Buffalo State Park. It was so pretty and it was nice to meet some of Ben's extended family. We introduced Jack to alot of people. On Saturday, we spontaneously went to my family cabin in Siren, WI to visit my Dad, Step-mom and the kids as they just arrived from Texas for the summer. It was a long drive, but well worth the trip. The cabin was just remodeled recently due to a pipe bursting in the winter and it turns out that it was a total blessing because most of the cabin has been completely remodeled with insurance monies. It's absolutely gorgeous now! It was nice to see the family and sit by the camp fire and relax. Jack also got his first hair cut. I even kept a lock of his baby hair for the baby book. I know, I know, such a "Mom" thing to do. It was also nice to spend Father's Day with my Dad :) It was a beautiful traveling weekend!

2 Years Already!

2 years ago today, Ben and I were married at the Chart House in Lakeville, MN. It was such an amazing day and I loved every part of our wedding. Even how dang hot it was! I cannot believe it's already been two years! So much has happened since then. I am so lucky to have such a devoted husband and father to Jack. I love you and I am so lucky to have you in my life!

Feed My Starving Children volunteer opportunity

On Wednesday we volunteered with our church small group at Feed My Starving Children. Its a Christian organization that sends meals to children in need all over the world with the help of many volunteers. The system is very cool actually. It is a non-profit organization that relies soley on its volunteers to pack individual meals and also donate monies to help minimize hunger in poor countries. It only take 17 cents to make one bag (which is 6 servings!) These meals are fortified with special nutrients to help children who are malnurished. Just to give you an idea of how much an hour of volunteering does; we had a group of 84 people from all over the city and we packed 11,000 bags of food! We were told that it provided meals for 31 children for a whole year! If you are ever interested in volunteering, this is a wonderful organization and it was so easy and lots of fun. www.feedmystarvingchildren.com

Como Zoo!

Thursday I had the day off so we went to Como Zoo with my friend Candice and her two little girls. It was such a beautiful day for it! Jack enjoyed loungin in the stroller and we saw lots of cool animals. The gorilla was my personal favorite. At the end of the day we took the kids to the Carousel and Jack loved it!
