Henry's 2!

Last week, (June 8th) we celebrated Henry's 2nd birthday! My Mom was in town from Florida, so we had Henry's birthday party at a hotel so the kids could go to the waterpark. The boys had so much fun and enjoyed swimming and staying up late :).
Henry is so much fun now. He's Mr. animated to everyone he meets, loves to mimic and play with his big Brother, Jack and dances anytime he hears music.
Next item on the list...Potty training! We do not need two kids in diapers!

Henry potty training!

I've been starting to put Henry on the potty because he will be approaching 2 years old soon. Over the last few weeks he just sat there and finally, yesterday, he went pee for the first time and he was so excited about it! We have a long way to go yet as he doesn't seem completely ready yet but it's a start!

Woah Henry is 18 months old today!

Henry's Recent Milestone's;
- Cutting 4 Molers at once
- New words include; "please", "thank you", "milk", "bathtime", "all done", "love you", "Jack", "Truck", "Ball", "cold", "hot", "baby" and many many more but I can't keep track! He also knows most of these words in sign language too.
- He loves to show off his dancing abilities. I'm not joking, the kid can move!
- He loves to read books, circle time at daycare and watching morning cartoons with his big brother.

Soon we will have to take away his "nunny" (pacifier) from him. I've given it to him out of habit and not when he really could need it and thats caused a rather bad attachment to it now. I know its quite rediculous that he still has a nuk at this point but its going in the garbage very soon. Especially if we are going to start the potty training in the near future.

Henry 1st Birthday!

Henry Michael Christensen is 1 year old today. This past year has gone so fast and I literally blinked and a year has gone by. Henry is really starting to take off walking. Still a little wabbly but getting around great. His first word was, "Hi". He will just about eat anything I give him! He absolutely adores Jack and thinks he is the funniest thing alive. He follows him around all day long.
I am so thankful that I get to be at home with him (and Jack) to see these awesome milestones unfold. :) From the time he arrived everyone has said, "He looks identical to you Amanda!" Ha I just love hearing that cause Jack was a little Ben! He's my little pumpkin and we are so lucky to have him in our lives.

Henry is 5 months old today!

Henry is 5 months old today. It's really sad how quickly time flies by. Even though I am home with him every day life is seriously a blink! Henry smiles and giggles all the time, he can roll-over onto his tummy and back and he is starting to eat solid foods. He went to his 4 month check-up last month and weighed 15 lbs. He's getting so big! Love you pumpkin!

Henry Michael Christensen!

Henry Michael Christensen - Our new little addition was born (11 days early), Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 12:14 a.m. in the morning. Weighing 7lbs. 12oz. and 21 1/4 inches long! I started having contractions at home (during daycare hours) at 4pm. Patiently awaiting the parents to pick up their children, I started timing the contractions and they were 5-6 minutes apart right from the start.
I waited to call the doctor, for about an hour and a half as they weren't really painful yet. I finally called the doctor at about 5:45pm and he said I should go in a get checked out. In the meantime, my Mom came over to care for Jack while we were gone. We left for the hospital at 6pm and wondered, "Is this really it?" or was this just another Braxton Hicks fakeout? The last thing I wanted was to be sent home!
We arrived at the hospital, got checked in and sure enough, I was in real labor and dialated to a 3 cm. I got an IV and shortly was dialated to a 4 and I was able to get an epidural. Shortly after the epidural started to kick in the doctor came in a broke my water as it wasn't going to on its own. Then things started to slow down, so they gave me a drug called Pitocin to speed up the contractions. After this, things started to speed up. I quickly went from 6cm dialated to 9 and the baby was starting to make some big moves. During this time contractions and pressure really started to get strong and painful so they upped my epidural dosage to a stronger medicine. Pretty soon I was dialated to a 10 and ready to push.
The doctor came in again and I was asked to push 3 times after each contraction. I did this about 4-5 times and there Henry came! It was a wonderful moment and almost surreal as it was so much more relaxing than Jack's birth-even though it was 3 hours longer! They placed him on my chest and I knew we had another little one to love. What a wonderful thing it is to be a parent!
